This Weekend: Tomahawk LL Qualifier

Tomahawk is going to be filled with fast talent this weekend!!!

This weekend is the third Loretta Lynn’s area qualifier for the Northeast region. This weekend’s battleground: Tomahawk MX Park in eastern West Virginia. Last year’s qualifier was much like this year’s Budds Creek qualifier. A large storm made its way midway through the Saturday program causing some sloppy conditions. Then on Sunday, the sun god for Tomahawk MX Park woke up and brought the sun out for some sweet conditions to finish off that weekend. It was my first visit to Tomahawk last year and was amazed with the track layout and the people who were behind the facility making it all happen. This year should be no exception. But they have been through a rocky road so far this year. After a bunch of rumors and statements about the track closing for good, Tomahawk is still up and running and ready to welcome all racers and fans to this weekend’s Loretta Lynn area qualifier. I got tons of footage there last year and plan to do just the same for this year. Stayed tuned during the week next week for another amazing short video from HG Films and an interview or 2 as well with some of the weekend’s top racers!

Speaking of top racers from this weekend, whew, the list is growing! PJ Larsen, Malcolm Stewart, Darryn Durham, and others are rumored to be at Tomahawk this weekend. Many top riders will be there trying to qualify in the Northeast region so they got somewhere else to qualify just in case something does go wrong at one of other regional qualifiers. All of this action will sure bring out some awesome videos during the week at MotoXposure.com!

Last Weekend: Raceway Park Practice Track

Raceway Park Practice Track (This is how it looked when it was first opened!)

Last weekend was Easter and I hope everyone found all those colored eggs! (The camouflaged ones are the worst!) I made the short trip to Raceway Park’s practice track last Friday just to check out who was there and hang out with some friends of mine. The weather was really cold and the high winds just made it that much worse. I wanted to do a short video from there but I didn’t want to risk the camera in the cold weather. Expert rider Bobby Jimenez was the first rider I ran into there as he was there putting his first laps of the ’08 season on his Hondas. Brandon Williams looked fly as always but some motor leakage caused him to sit out the day and take a trip to White Castle with me to pig out. The infamous Billy Hauser (Richard Cranium from MXP3) showed off his amazing one handers and bar dragging bike stand whips for the fans as usual! But the one rider who really stood out was former sandbagger Zak Klaptosky. After a superb year of sandbagging the C class, he is finally in the B class shredding and so far is having a stellar year! His speed was unmatched at Raceway Park that day and seems like the riding and training (if you call it that) has been paying off so far. He had an amazing B class debut at the Budds Creek qualifier as well. Watch out for the #58 Kawasaki at a track near you!! Let’s hope he doesn’t sandbag the B class too!!

Pro Rider Needs A RIDE!!!

Robby Marshall airs it out at the 1st NERC at Winchester in 2006. (Matt Wozney Photo)

According to Racer X, one of the Northeast’s top pro riders, Robby Marshall, is looking for a ride for the Motocross class outdoors. He recently got cut by Chaplain Kawasaki and is seeking a ride for the outdoors. This rider has battled with some of New England’s top pros like John Dowd, Keith Johnson, Billy Ainsworth, and many others! He holds a top 100 national number now and he, no doubt, has the speed! He was also featured in the Winchester segment in Moto Xposure 3. You can email me at wozwickhg@yahoo.com if you are interested in having Robby riding for you!! He is definitely a qualified pro athlete!

What’s In The Works This Past Week….

GET MOTO XPOSURE 3 TODAY AT THE VENDOR'S ROW!

This week has been pretty busy but consistent at HG Films. The Moto Xposure DVDs are selling better now and things are looking up for me. Along with getting ready for Tomahawk this weekend, I am also setting up my trip to the Xtremey Awards in Southern California. That is a pretty big trip right there so saving money is pretty important right now!!! Or if you are want to support me financially, the best you can do is order any of the Moto Xposure DVDs from my Vendor’s Row store today!

If you haven’t noticed, I did not talk about the World Minis as one of my big trips. Well, sad to say, this year I will pass up the trip to Sin City. I have been planning this trip since last year and I really wanted to go back. But just the way how things are now and with the Xtremey’s the weekend after, I’ll have to pass on this deal. Instead, I will be doing something new. I plan on moving my video equipment down to Blue Diamond during the week of April 14-18 and do promo videos during the week. So, if you are a rider that is looking for a promo video to be done by HG Films, this is your one of very few chances to do so!! I don’t setup many days to do only promo videos for the riders. Take advantage of this opportunity and contact me at wozwickhg@yahoo.com for more information. I’ll have something posted Monday next week about this new promo video setup!

Check out these new Moto Xposure graphics done up by Mike Marro of Mad Designs!!

Also, I have been constantly trying to find different ways to get HG Films and the Moto Xposure DVDs out there as much as I can! This time, Mike Marro from Mad Designs (who has designed all three Moto Xposure covers) is once again stepping it up with Moto Xposure bike graphics! They are still in a so-called prototype phase but I do plan on getting some out there and hopefully start selling them here at MotoXposure.com! It will be a great way to show off the movie and help support not just me but the entire Northeast motocross scene!

I am also working up some details on advertising at MotoXposure.com this week. If your company or business is interested in advertising on this site, shoot over an email to me at wozwickhg@yahoo.com for more information!

HG Features Contests End March 31st!

If you haven’t already checked them out, head to the HG Features page and check out my 2 “Who’s That?” contests. Guess the rider and event and win a free copy of Moto Xposure 3!!! Let’s see how good you know moto!!!

That will do it for this week’s blurb. Hope to see you at Tomahawk MX this weekend! I will have copies of Moto Xposure 3 at the track so throw something at me (not my camera) and get your copy this weekend for $20!!!!
