Hello again to another edition of my weekly blog, “Blurbs”. This week was an overwhelming week and here some cool things happening at MotoXposure.com. 2008 Xtremey Awards
As you can see, the site hasn’t been updated for a week or so. I have been busy finishing up the promo videos from Promo Week and also, started up a new side job at a doctor’s office, which is video related so it works out well! Also, at my UPS gig, my boss was relocated to a different building and the new boss is a paperwork freak. So, my nights are longer than usual. But last weekend, I made the long trip to beautiful southern California for the 8th annual Xtremey Awards, presented by my distributor, Impact Video. The Xtremey Awards is an awards show that displays that best of motorsport and action sport videos from that year! My latest DVD, Moto Xposure 3, was up for the Best Amateur Race Video of the Year award at the Xtremeys. As the nominees were announced and that famous line “And the winner is…” was said, the next words I heard was “Moto Xposure….” and what do you know, I WON! It was just amazing to receive my first award ever for my film work. It’s only been three years but I can’t be any more than ecstatic about the result from that Sunday night. I had a good feeling about winning but I was prepared to lose more than anything. So it was both a shock and a “oh yeah, I knew I was going to win” type of deal. As I walked up to the stage, I was all smiles with the crowd all applauding and after slapping a cool high five with Malcolm McCassey on the podium, I was suddenly handed my super cool award (and super cool Ricky Carmichael diecast toy set!) and a microphone was waiting for my acceptance speech. Oh yeah, a blinding spotlight was waiting for my arrival as well and the nerves….whew, they were kickin’ into high gear! This was something I wasn’t prepared for but wow, I lived a moment very few people get to do in their lifetime. It was an awesome feeling to get recognized for my work that I have devoted my life to these past number of years. I want to thank Docy and the entire Impact Video again for an amazing night! This is one night I will never forget! Promo Week Videos Going Up at MySpace.com! So after a weekend of excitement, fun, and plenty of tanning action from the California sun, I dreaded the flight back to chilly New Jersey to get back to video work. I just finished all 8 videos from my first ever Promo Week two weeks ago and they will be posted at my MySpace profile at www.myspace.com/hgfilms. This is the only place where you can check out my Promo Week videos! They will be uploaded onto MySpace throughout the day today, so go check them out now! Southwick LL Qualifier Video….WHERE IS IT!!!!! The Southwick LL Qualifier video is in the works but I am currently finalizing a deal with Surfdog Records and other labels and bands to get some awesome music for this video and future videos at MotoXposure.com! I plan on getting the Southwick video up sometime next week! So, keep checking the Videos page!! THIS WEEKEND: Broome-Tioga LL Qualifier I will be back at the race track this weekend. This time I will be going north again to the amazing Broome-Tioga Sports Center for the next round of Loretta Lynn area qualifier action from the Northeast area! I will be filming and getting a short video up sometime after the Southwick video is posted. Rain is making its way onto the weather forecast and hopefully, it’s not the case this weekend at Broome-Tioga!
