Saturday had perfect weather conditions all day at Wildwood!
Plus, not many tracks in the world feature an ocean backrop...very cool!

Bryton Carroll easily won the 50cc class with probably more than half a track lead!

The Saturday practice sessions started off wet after a brief, strong storm that latest till about midnight last night.

Drag races, which were held on bikes and quads, ran last night
thru the rain while I was getting Friday's report online.

Jesse Festestine had a strong start in the 1st 250 A moto but a mistake after the finish line jump
let Bobby Jimenez and Dakota Kessler take over the lead.

View from the Wildwood Beach Patrol Station near the track.

Pat Morocco finished 5th in the first 250 A moto today at Wildwood after a bad start.

Racers were greeted with this shallow pond in the morning that came from the rain last night.

Quad rider gets "serious" air over the step up jump in the middle of the track.

I was ducking the wet roost from the quads all day. I got showered plenty by them!

2 mini quad riders during their practice session at Wildwood.

The starting gate was under water during the practice sessions
but as the motos went throughout the day, the water disappeared very quickly.

More quad roost! RUN!!!

A bunch of quads make their way through the sand whoops at Wildwood.

Another view of the riders looking at the newly posted race order.

A pair of 65cc riders get together in the sand whoop section at Wildwood.

Areas off the track got their share of beach ponds as the higher areas were bone dry.

Dakota Kessler came back after a horrible start in the 1st 250 A moto and took the moto win
getting by Jesse Festenstine and Bobby Jimenez.
Dakota, aboard his CR250 two-stroke, took the lead and put on a big lead by moto's end.

Anthony Roth had a strong showing during the first 450 A moto before the moto was erased.
(The 1st 450 A moto was won by Kawasaki rider Wally Parker (on a Christina 2 wheel drive KX450!)
but the race only lasted 3 laps after the moto was red flagged before hand.
The 1st 450 A moto will be restarted as the first race on Sunday morning.)

Another lame camera on the sand shot..... :)

Now imagine hitting these in 3rd gear........go ahead!
(Har-har-har-har-har-brappp.....)

This photo was taken 1 hour into practice! The sign up line was still very long!

Surfs up!
A bunc of kids were boogy-boarding on this small pond on the side of the track before practice started.

HUGE thanks to Monster Cone for hooking me up with free food on the beach this weekend!

One of the soggy corners before practice started.

C practice......that's all I got to say.

A quad rider styles his way to the finish in his practice session.
My video camera took a beating today with the zoom and now, it's stuck zoomed out. I filmed a lot today before the camera had that malfunction so I may not film a lot tomorrow and get more racing photos for the update for Sunday night. Check back tomorrow night/Monday morning for the final report from the Thunder In The Sand at Wildwood, NJ!
