PHOTOS: Saturday at Thunder In The Sand

Adam Blessing was your 1st 450 A moto winner at Wildwood.

The first day of racing at the Fall Thunder In The Sand kicked off today and was it an awesome and crazy day.  Here are some notable names who did well today and other notes.

  • Frank Lettieri, who is racing his first A class race this weekend at Wildwood, had a rough debut in his 1st 250 A moto.  He was running 3rd and as he dodged some roost, he also hit a nasty hole that ended up putting a huge cut in his tongue.  Check out the photo of it below.
  • Dakota Kessler came away with the 1st 250 A moto win barely has Ronnie Stewart led entire moto until he ended up sidesaddling his RMZ250 2 turns from the finish.
  • Adam Blessing, who was 3rd in 250 A, came back strong in 450 A with the moto win.  Stewart once again had a lead going until a fall midway through the moto cost him the win.
  • Charles Sherby is a mile ahead of everyone in the 250 and 450 B classes.
  • Mike Petit is on the gas today taking the Supermini and 85cc 12-15 moto wins easily.
  • I had some crazy action myself as I was hit during a +40 moto early in the day.  One rider decided to go straight off the start and right into me.  Luckily, I was recording the entire incident.  Check for that this week!
  • Kevin Bailey will be running the mic all this weekend and as well as for the MXPTV videos this week!
  • Motos ran late today as the boardwalk lights seemed to light up the track more than the withering sun at day’s end.
